The " conventional wisdom" in most of the western world is that the main cause of Arab terrorism is "the Israeli-Palestinian problem."

It is also wrong.

• The Iran-Iraq war
• The Iraqi invasion of Kuwait
• Saddam Hussein's mass murder of Iraqi Kurds
• The Muslim-led massacres in Algeria and Sudan
• The war between Hamas Palestinians and Fatah Palestinians
• The killing by the Syrian government of thousands of its own citizens

All of these, and many more expressions of barbarism had nothing to do with Israel, the United States, colonialism or "western civilization". 

The sooner people come to understand this, the sooner they can begin to deal with the real problem.

The Arab world avoids responsibility and the need to change by blaming its ills on others.
